Zebra Training Clinic, May 7-9th, 2010
 
The clinic will include a variety of demonstrations and presentations including:

What does it take to train a riding zebra? Find out in this exciting presentation. Topics for discussion include    conformation and animal size, equipment, safety, problem solving and yielding techniques. A question and answer period will allow you to receive    answers and voice your thoughts during these demonstrations. Also, experienced riders will have the opportunity to try riding a zebra!







Sammi Jo driving Charlie Driving

You will learn driving techniques from start to finish in this  fun and intensive driving demonstration, covering all necessary steps involved in training a zebra to drive safely and willingly. Driving safety, necessary equipment, and problem solving are key topics for this demonstration.   You will also have a chance to drive our zebra,  Charlie!

 Groundwork Essentials

 

 

 

Make sure you get off to the right start with proper groundwork techniques. In this demonstration, we will work on ground work for any age. Whether you would like your zebra to advance its training to riding or driving, or maybe you only want to be able to handle your zebra for routine care, this demonstration can help you find what works for you and your zebra! 

Aggressive and destructive behavior
 

Problem Solving

From aggression and destructive behaviors to disrespect, we will help you set and achieve your   problem solving goals with real-life solutions. This interactive seminar is packed with demonstrations using participants’ own zebras, both wild and hand raised. An excellent place to share and benefit from each others’ experiences and ask questions.

 

 



 

 

Zebras in History

Have you ever wondered what place zebra training and breeding has in history? Find out in this educational presentation!  Hear fascinating stories about historic training and breeding, and see rare vintage zebra video footage and photographs.

General Care

This tutorial covers special nutritional, exercise and health needs, tranquilization, controlling parasites,  illnesses, hoof care, herd management and more.   A must if you’ve never owned a zebra, and a great refresher course if you do!

 


Public Event Safety

Participating in events can be enjoyable for both you and your zebra. When we appear in public with our  zebras, we become ambassadors for the species. In this important role, safety becomes a top priority. We can help you learn how to handle unique and potentially dangerous situations that you may encounter in a public setting. This course covers  a range of topics from crowd control to exit strategies.       A must-know if you plan to take your zebra out in public!
